Match Report
North Hill 1-6 Grampound
St Piran League
12 April 2025
After a few
minutes when the home side looked as
if they would give Grampound a very
tough game, things settled down and
Grampound began to impose their
strong defensive qualities combined
with some neat passing movements.
However, there was no score until 30
minutes when Jack Bradshaw head home
a corner from close range.
Grampound were surprised however
when a North Hill corner was headed
in for an equaliser.
A few
minutes later Rob Vincent, on his
debut for Grampound, hit a smart
rising drive into the top corner
from 20 yards to restore Grampound's
lead.
In spite of
scoring 2 first half goals, the team
should have been out of sight by the
break based on passing, possession
and pressure and, pleasingly after
half-time, were quicker to the ball,
using it more effectively, and
scoring 4 more goals without much
pressure on their own goal.
Seconds after the turn around,
Bradshaw scored his second to make
the score 3-1. Bradshaw
completed his hat-trick when a long
free kick was met perfectly and he
headed to ball low past the home
goalkeeper. Nathan Penfold hit
a rasping drive only for the home
keeper to make a brilliant save, touching it onto the
crossbar. The rebound went up almost
vertically and Brendan Hitchens
climbed highest to head the dropping
ball home from close range.
The final goal came in the dying
minutes when a 25 yard low shot from
Dean Dunn zipped past the diving
keeper's right hand to settle in the
corner to give a final score of 6-1
in Grampound's favour.
